We celebrated the ending of a fabulous VBS with a church wide picnic and night out at Point Mallard Water Park. The church provided the fried chicken & drinks. We provided...
...the sides & desserts. I took a tomato, cucumber & onion salad [all from Popsy's garden]. Everything was delicious & delightful!
At the picnic, Mary Reese found Gray...
...they acted like they hadn't seen each other in years [it had only been about 5 hours].
After dinner, the kids performed 3 of the songs they learned...
[Banks is in the back with the baseball hat. Mary Reese didn't want to participate.] They did a fabulous job considering they only had 3 days to get the songs & routines down.
Then we all headed over to the water park for a night of splashing, sliding & jumping! Mary Reese & Owen ran towards the waves...
Banks and his friend Eppes are already almost to the wall.
Owen remembered how much he loved playing in the waves from our beach trip a few weeks ago...
...and that would be Mary Reese swimming along beside him.
Mary Reese, Owen & I moved onto the duck pond. Mary Reese thought her baby brother would enjoy the kiddie slide since he was trying to climb up it. She hauled him up to the top & got him in the go position...
Can you tell by his face that he LOVED it?
He thought he was big stuff. I bet he went down that slide 50 times. The lifeguard was sweet enough to give him a push to get him going. Mary Reese soon ditched her brother for her friend Gray...
Then Banks, Mary Bradford & Eppes joined in the fun...
No visit to Point Mallard would be complete without a few jumps off the diving boards & platforms at the Olympic Pool. Banks walked back down after climbing up to the 1st Platform. He did brave the high dive...
[That is Banks jumping from the high dive on the right.]
Mary Reese thought the low dive was more her speed...
Mary Reese refused to go down the slide after our one trip down last year. Jody and Brad [Mary Bradford & Gray's dad] talked Gray and Jack into going down with them.
Brad & Jack...
I love Jack's face...he wasn't to impressed with his ride.
Jody & Gray...
She wasn't real impressed either.
We had a fun night with lots of good friends...
Doesn't this look like a Zap from college? Banks & Eppes - the typical frat boys goofing off. Mary Bradford - already has the sorority pose down.
