Owen :: awards day & graduation

Owen's teachers invited us to attend an Awards & Graduation Ceremony for their 2 year old class.  You can tell he was real thrilled to wear the cap and gown...

...and a ball of energy he is!

After the "ceremony" they played a DVD of pictures from throughout the year.  It is priceless and I am so excited they sent us all home with a copy.  Here are some pictures from the DVD of what they have been up to this school year...

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was perfect.  The weather was perfect, surprisingly not FREEZING!  The kids woke up early to find that the Easter Bunny had made a stop at our house...

All six of us (Banks had his friend Jackson over for the night) got ready for early service at church in time for a few pictures...

After church we headed home for some egg dying...

MROJDyeEggs

We never got around to it on Friday or Saturday...

Nothing like dying eggs in your Deigo underwear!  I think I liked dying them on Easter Sunday...it might even become a new tradition.

Then we headed to Debbies for a delicious & delightful lunch of Poulet, Green Beans, Copper Pennies and Strawberry Shortcake.

Home for a little rest and then out to Popsy and Gigi's for a cousin egg hunt...

Egg Hunting

The country club had a egg hunt for the kids on Easter Eve...

DCCEggHunt

There were kids everywhere.

The pre-school age group went first...

Owen was a little timid at first, but quickly found his groove...

After the hunt, the kids enjoyed cookies and lemonade with their friends...

The boys put together a game of baseball.  They got creative and used their shoes as the bases.  It was all fun and games until Owen decided to chunk one of Put's shoes (which was serving as 3rd base) into the middle of this huge bed of prickly bushes.  Put got on Jody's shoulders to see if he could spot the shoe.  Then we had to get creative to fish it out...

ShoeFishing

It involved a golf cart and a pool net.  Thankful the guys fished it out.  Then we all enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio with friends.  A perfect ending to a spring Saturday!

Palm Sunday

Our church did things a little bit differently this year.  They usually have the egg hunt on a Saturday.  We always miss out because we are at the ball fields.  I was excited to see that this year they opted for a Potluck Lunch & Egg Hunt after the Palm Sunday service.

We were actually all dressed and ready to go early without any major outfit meltdowns.  I snapped a few pictures in front of our azaleas because they are beautiful this year...

BO&MRPalmSunday

Owen still gives me that One Eyed Willie look most of the time I snap his pictures.  I did get one that was halfway decent of all three...

Then the goofiness came out...

At the opening of the service, the children marched in waving palm branches...

Owen wasn't too sure about it...

...but he rolled with it.

Then they joined the choir and sang an opening song...

Owen still isn't sure and he was stuck on the front row!

After the service, we gathered in the fellowship hall for a delicious and delightful covered dish lunch.  The church provided the fried chicken and each Sunday School Class was assigned a category.  Our class had cold salads.  I thought Copper Pennies was fitting for a Palm Sunday lunch.

Then the Easter Bunny stopped by...

...while the older children hid the eggs in the neighboring yards.  They blocked of the street, divided the kids up and told them to hunt.

I went with Owen's group.  He loved finding the eggs...
